"Plus Size and Fashion have tied the knot!"

Before I begin this review I need to preface with the fact that I do not normally write reviews for eBooks and that I first met (online) Marie Denee through her blog The Curvy Fashionista. Our association extended into a ongoing relationship via the social networking sites of Twitter and Facebook. It is hard to believe that was over two years ago.

The full book title is "Keeping it Curvy Confident Chic: An introduction into the beautiful world of plus size fashion." The 51 page eBook retails for $9.99 (but Large and Lovely readers can get it for $6.99 through link below).

Right from the beginning Marie explains that her ebook is not for the die-hard fashionistas but for "the newbie, curious, and confused, plus size woman who is wanting more, looking for more, and dying for new options". She supplies the mechanics in a simple and empowering manner to make you more comfortable with personal fashion and the fashion industry when you sit down to click away at your computer.

The greatest gift readers will receive from Marie is the affirmation that "barriers no longer exist!" We may not be able to walk in the store down the street and find clothing in our size but we can certainly turn on the computer and find a plethora of options at our fingertips. Marie's plan is to re-educate readers into the new world of plus size shopping, one where our needs and desires are not relegated to the back corner of the store. She educates the reader on the fallacy that there is no plus size fashion out there and that to be fashionable you must be uncomfortable. She is positive, supportive, and real in telling us we have to do our part too -- expressing our wants to retailers, designers, and fashion magazines.

She does not spend a lot of time on the negatives, or don'ts, of plus size fashion which I love. I am so tired of hearing about what we should not be doing. It is refreshing to read about the positive. In one of my favorite sections she explains the difference between quality and price something most plus size shoppers are not familiar with or have an unrealistic impression of.

I was disappointed however that there were not more images of Marie sharing her fashion style as well as information on how she developed her style and fashion sense. There were a few typos but nothing glaring that would impede reading enjoyment or understanding.

I used my iPod to read Curvy Confident Chic with the Stanza app and there were some formatting issues which were irritating. I briefly reviewed it in Adobe and on a Kobo reader in a Blackberry tablet and there were no such issues.
Personally I think $10 is a bit of a leap for a 50 page ebook with $7 falling in the more reasonable range.

Overall, Curvy Confident Chic was an enjoyable, quick read and I would recommend it for any woman wanting to make an educated foray into the world of plus size fashion with some basic knowledge under their belt.
