Belong to Me

Hello, and welcome back! I hope fall has been a terrific reading season for all of you. As I’ve mentioned, things here have been rather crazy since my brief stint of unemployment in early fall. My reading time (and writing time, for that matter) has been extremely limited. I’m hoping that will change in the next months. I do have lots of things here on my desk to share with you, and I’ll be getting to all of the books as soon as I can.

This time out, I have Shayla Black’s Belong to Me (Heat, purchased). FBI analyst Tara Jacobs is determined to find out what’s happened to her best friend, who went missing in a BDSM club. But the only way to do that is to go undercover, and Tara is no submissive. At least, not for anyone but Logan Edgington, and she hates the idea of letting him have that much control over her again. After all, he broke her heart years ago. Logan had good reason for leaving Tara all those years ago, but winning her trust back is the only mission the Navy SEAL has on his mind. Tara gives in to Logan on more than one level rather more easily than one would expect for a woman still nursing a broken heart, which I had issue with. But I’ll be honest: Logan is rather irresistible, and I imagine many women would have the same trouble in his presence. This one is plenty hot. The villain is no real mystery if you’re paying attention, but by then the reader will be much more involved in the sexy relationship between Tara and Logan; I didn’t have a problem with that, however. There are some aspects to Black’s erotica I haven’t loved, but of her erotic romances, this is my favorite so far. Logan is a great hero, strong and sexy, and I bet a whole lot of romance readers are going to fall madly in love with him. I’m borrowing four of Cupid’s five arrows for this one.

Until next time, happy reading!
