Pleasure Bound

Hello, and welcome back! Winter is officially here, though the weather doesn’t really feel like it right now. I keep hoping Mother Nature will make up her mind to let us have some winter for real after that tiny taste we got back in October. I’m sure we’ll get some eventually. Hopefully when it gets here, I’ll have plenty of good reading material at hand to keep me busy. If it arrived today, I'd be all set, with the towering stacks of review books on the corner of my desk right now.

This time out, I have Anne Rainey’s Pleasure Bound (Aphrodisia, received from publisher), next in her series centered around the sexy men of a private investigation agency, and this time around, Jonas Phoenix has his sights set on Deanna Harrison, sister of his partners, and the one woman he’s wanted for years. Deanna hasn’t let a man get close to her for a long, long time, but she’s always wanted Jonas. When he makes his move, he’s determined to get his woman. Deanna thinks she might be able to keep her heart safe, but her heart hasn’t been safe from Jonas since they met, and the more intimate their relationship grows, the less likely it is her heart will remain her own. I enjoyed the last book in this series, as the focus was more on the developing romance than previous stories I’ve seen from Ms. Rainey. This one moves even further in that direction, which makes me very, very happy. Jonas is irresistible, and Deanna is the perfect woman for him. While there are visits from the couple in the previous story, the focus here really stays on Jonas and Deanna and their scorching hot romance. I’m hoping Deanna’s other brother has a story in the works, because I suspect he’s going to be just as hot and dangerous as his brother and business partner. I’m borrowing four of Cupid’s five arrows for this one.

Until next time, happy reading!
