Men Looking at Other Women

Reminiscent of a Carrie Underwood song or two, hanging out with certain men can cause a woman find herself somewhere between the music videos “Don’t Even Know His Name” and “When He Cheats.”

As annoying as it is, men do look at women...alot. They just do. Men glance. They gaze. They admire. But men also look at other men. They size them up, consider workout routines, and check out the women with other men. That’s just what they do.

Women are not so different. We look at men. We consider if we like their shoes or if our man will look good in a shirt that’s cut like another mans. We look at women too with the same sizing up men do.

Some men, however, don’t just look. They don't stop at that furtive glance. They linger. They ogle. They flirt. They openly stare.

If a man is looking at women in that way and they are alone, they are on the make. They are prowling for a woman and female attention. Much like the rest of us look for a free parking space, there are many men giving free admiration and hoping to get some attention in return. Like prowling for that sparking spot, we are relentless but we aren’t committed. We only want that space for a little amount of time. When we are finished with our business we are going to leave that parking space behind and not give it much thought…ever…again.

There are some men, however, who when he’s with another woman he ogles, flirts and sizes up and down other women. That man, ladies, is a cad. Let me say it again, he is a cad. He’s a cad if he’s with you and checking out other women. He’s careless. He is inconsiderate. He is rude. Odds are if he’s going to act like that in front of the woman he is with, his selfishness probably carries over into many aspects of the relationship. His ego is too big for things like commitment, mutual respect, satisfying sex, among many other relationship issues.

In speaking with other men about this topic, one thing became clear: men are creatures of habit. They are always looking. They can’t help it. They do look. That first, furtive look at another woman is just something that’s part of their nature. BUT if they are with another woman, it’s the second, lingering look that is the qualifier between curious and CAD.
