The subtitle says it all: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time. Personally and professionally, I’m all for getting more done in less time. In fact, this book is written in a style so that you can read and begin using the suggestions quickly. First published in 2001 it is still relevant today, even in this fast-paced digital age.
As Brian Tracy states, “Your ‘frog’ is your biggest, most important task, the one you are most likely to procrastinate on if you don’t do something about it now. It is also the one task that can have the greatest impact on your life and results at the moment.”
So, how do you eat that frog? You eat your frog one bite-sized piece at a time – one task at a time. Each of the “21 Great Ways” is a chapter. Each chapter is short, sweet to the point and provides practical insight into staying on task. At the end of each chapter, there are positive “Eat That Frog” follow-up activities.

Here is an example: Chapter 17 – Do The Most Difficult Task First. It sounds so simple and logical and yet, many of us tend to put off until the last minute tackling those difficult or unpleasant tasks. I agree with Brian Tracy, “this is one of the most important of all personal management skills.” At the end of the chapter his “Eat That Frog” activity is about developing the “just do it today” mindset. I’ll say it again, the chapters and follow up activities are short, sweet and to the point.
No matter where you are currently in your life and career, there is a lesson or two you will come away with by reading this book. We all strive for greater productively in less time and with less stress – Brian Tracy gives us some great and practical suggestions for doing just that.
I highly recommend Eat That Frog! by Brian Tracy That is why I am making it a Book Club selection.
