This time out, I have Jill Shalvis’s Head Over Heels (Grand Central, received from publisher), part of her “Lucky Harbor” series. In this installment, Chloe Traeger butts heads with the stubborn sheriff Sawyer Thompson. Chloe might be sexy as hell, but she is far too free-spirited and wild for the by-the-rules lawman, but every time they’re together, sparks fly. Chloe keeps finding trouble, and Sawyer is always right there to get her out of it. Or to reprimand her. He makes her want to behave even more badly--who knew she might have a handcuff fetish? She’s never made a secret of wanting not to stick around, but the past year here remodeling the inn with her half-sisters has made her rethink that a little. Still, even if she can overcome her reluctance to settle down, Sawyer may not be willing to overlook some of her more egregious past behavior. I’ve been enjoying this series from the start, and getting to revisit Chloe’s sisters and their very own hunks in this one was a really nice bonus. Sawyer is a serious hottie with his own issues, and Chloe might even be too much of a handful for him. I’m borrowing four of Cupid’s five arrows for this one. I loved watching these two fall in love, and I was very sorry to reach the end. The only real consolation I had is that there will be more “Lucky Harbor” stories to look forward to.
Until next time, happy reading!
