Documentary Movie Review - Food Matters

February's movie for the month is "Food Matters."

If you are approaching natural health protocols for the first time or are reviewing the topic you will find that this film will be helpful to you. If you have cancer or are caring for someone who does you need to watch this movie. This film will take you to leading experts in natural medicine to hear their arguments regarding nutrition and vitamin supplements and the abuse that the drug industry inflicts upon the population.

You will hear the arguments that need to be heard regarding the old adage "you are what you eat."

Consider this. In 23 years 10 people have allegedly died from the use of some type of supplement. The Journal of the American Medical Association has reported that 106,000 people die each year from prescription use, drugs that are properly prescribed and used. So in 23 years thatís 2,438,000 people (yes that is millions) have definitively died from a prescription drug use when the drug was used as directed. With vitamins, less than half a person per died per year in an alleged and unproven use association for vitamins.

Our current medical training of doctors does not prepare them for curing disease. There is a huge body of knowledge available to support and confirm that that which we eat and supplement with can and will improve our health and prevent disease, yet the medical doctors receive no or next to no training in nutrition. Not only that, medical journals that report the positive effects of nutrition and supplements have those articles blacklisted by the US National Library of Medicine and these reports are not indexed for further access to researchers.

This film will expand your understanding of the power of good nutrition though the eyes of some of our leading experts who have been working in the healing arena collectively for over a century. You will start to gain understanding of orthomolecular medicine, which essentially, bare bones, translates to mega dosaging of vitamins either from a supplement or from a food source.

This movie is available streaming on Netflix

I will be doing movie reviews for the first week of each month. Film topics will include new perspectives in agriculture and sustainability, diet, alternative health treatments and social changes that could lead us into creative and exciting ways to become more sustainable as individual communities and as a nation at large.
