Facebook Static iFrame HTML Tabs App

In this tutorial, we will install and build a custom Facebook Timeline app featuring a Flash^R ecard. We will be using the Static HTML iFrame Tabs app to create the Timeline app. This app will be added to your Facebook Favorites section, just under the Timeline cover image. Each app in this section is represented by a 111 x 74 px thumbnail.

For this tutorial, we will assume that you already have any images ready for use in your app. These images must be uploaded to somewhere on the web. If you do not have a website, you may wish to use a photo hosting service such as PhotoBucket or add them to your Facebook Photo album.

However, it you do have a website, the easiest option is to upload them to your website account. These images do not need to be part of your website or viewable on the site. You may wish to create a new folder on your server and give it the same name as your ecard and use this folder to store all the images and HTML pages for your Facebook app. In our example, the ecard features a racing car. So we will name the folder "RacingCar".

Your first step is to log into your Facebook account.
Go to the fan page to which you wish to add the app.
In the search box at the top, type in Static HTML iFrame Tabs or use the link at the bottom of this article to go to the app's page.
On the top right, click on the Go to App button.
On the next page, click on the Add Static HTML iFrame Tab to a Page button.
On the next page, you will see one of two views. If you only have one fan page, you will see a message stating "Add this application to NameOfYourFanPage". If you have more than one fan page, you will see a drop-down menu with the name of the fan pages. Choose the page you want and click the Add Static HTML iFrame Tabs button.
You will be taken back to your fan page and the app will be installed. You will see the familiar gray star thumbnail and the default Welcome title for the app. Depending on the number of apps in your Favorites section, you may need to expand the list to see the thumbnail.
Click on the thumbnail to go to the HTML input boxes.
