Here is the rest of my interview with Cheryl Kaye Tardif, author of Children of the Fog. I hope you enjoy it.


Are you successful enough to write full time?
Yes. I've been writing full time since 2003. For the first 8 years or so, my husband picked up the slack, income wise, but I still made a decent amount. The past year, I've made enough to support my family comfortably.


What other books have you written?
I've written Children of the Fog, The River, Divine Intervention, Divine Justice, Whale Song (regular and school editions), Lancelot's Lady (under the pen name Cherish D'Angelo), Skeletons in the Closet & Other Creepy Stories (a collection of horror), and Remote Control, (a novelette).


Are you currently working on another book? Would you tell us a bit about it?
I'm working on a thriller titled Submerged. It's a thriller about a very flawed man searching for redemption. It has a unique tie-in to Children of the Fog, but is a standalone novel.


Do you plan out the entire book before you begin writing? Or do you just sit down and write?
I always know what happens in the beginning and end, plus a few major scenes in between. I'll often start writing, and then make notes of anything I don't want to forget. I don't do a rigid synopsis or outline though.


Do you have a set time that you write each day? Or do you wait to be inspired?
I write when I can. Sometimes I will plan to write and set a time frame for doing so.


What new doors has your writing opened up for you? Were there any opportunities that you had never considered before?
Writing has opened many doors. Most recently, I've had a number of foreign rights deals. These translations should be coming out later this year and next year. I've also been contacted by many in the film industry and came very close to a couple of film deals. Whale Song and Children of the Fog have really interested producers and directors. They'd make awesome movies! 


Do you ever become bored with what you are writing? If you do, how do you get past that point?
Never.


How do you manage to balance your time between family, friends, and writing?
I've learned to juggle like crazy. LOL. Really, I've learned to prioritize better. So far it seems to be working. I always give myself "play time."


Do you read a lot? If so, what kind of books do you like to read?
Yes. I read a bit of everything. Fantasy, suspense, crime novels, thrillers, romance, adventure, even YA novels. I enjoy anything with gripping suspense.


If you could spend one hour with just one person, whom would you choose?
Stephen King. He'd scare me, I'm sure, but he's been my idol since I was a teen. Dean Koontz comes in a very close second.


Do you have any advice for writers who are striving to be published?
Write because you love writing. Learn everything about writing. Get your work edited by someone else. Learn the business of publishing. And above all, never, ever give up. If writing is your passion, write!
