The Case Closed Season Two box set is a four-disc set that contains episodes 27 through 52 of the Case Closed anime series. The first two discs have seven episodes, the third disc has six episodes, and the fourth disc has six episodes and the bonus features. On the discs, you have the option to watch the series with the English dub or with the original Japanese audio with English subtitles.

At the beginning of the series, Shinichi, who is known as Jimmy in the English dub, was shrunk back down to his seven-year-old self after he was beaten by members of a crime syndicate and made to take an experimental poison. He takes on the name of Conan Edogawa, and goes to live with his friend, Ran (Rachel in the English dub), and her father. Ran/Rachel's father is a bumbling private investigator, and Conan subtly gives him hints to help him solve the cases that come their way.

A big focus of the mysteries in Season Two is murder mysteries. While there were plenty of murders in Season One, they were spread out a little more, so it didn't feel like an overabundance of them. The only mysteries in this season that I can think of that didn't have to do with murders were a treasure hunt and a vandalism case. It should also be noted that the mystery in episode number 39 ("Flames of Confusion"), appears much earlier in the manga series; it's a mystery in the second volume of the manga, but it appears much later in the anime.

Another thing I noticed about Season Two is the fact that there are more multiple part episodes compared with Season One. There were only two multiple part episodes in Season One, while Season Two had four.

There are only three bonus features included on the fourth disc. The first is a "Character Spotlight" for Rachel Moore; this is one screen of text with a picture of the character to accompany it. The second is "Conan's Gadgets," which is one screen describing Conan's Bow Tie Voice Transmitter; this is accompanied by a picture of Conan using the bow tie. The final extra is a page with a menu for trailers. The trailers included on this disc are for xxxHOLiC, Dragon Ball Z, Ghost Hunt, Dragon Ball GT, Baki the Grappler, School Rumble, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Case Closed. Since I already saw this setup of bonus features on the Season One box set, I wasn't as underwhelmed as I was with the Season One extras.

The Case Closed Season Two box set is a decent release, and is worth adding to your DVD library if you're a fan of the Case Closed anime series.
