DeVon Franklin & Meagan Good Marry

Congratulations go out to my friend DeVon Franklin and his new wife the beautiful actress Meagan Good. They can now shout out like Shug Avery Is Married Now!

The couple got married in Malibu, California over the weekend. Among the 400 guests at the couples Spanish and bayou-themed wedding ceremony were Tracey Edmonds, Derek Luke, Deion Sanders and Tasha Smith.

According to People.com, Meagan walked down the aisle to These Arms (performed by Jeffrey Lewis of the Craig Lewis Band) in a custom-made R-Mine gown with a purple dipped train.

I didnt want girly, Good said of her dress. I wanted handsome. Its got a bit of a masculine feel to it. I wanted something that felt a tad bit rebellious and out of the ordinary. That felt closer to my personality.

Franklin, 33, Vice President of Production at Sony Pictures Entertainment is also a 7th Day Adventist preacher, proposed to his love last March in Los Angeles.

Good described her wedding as an enchanted and dreamy sunset ceremony, which was accented with purple roses, tulips and rustic gold. It was very antique looking, she said.

At the reception, while Shanice sang Loving You in honor of the special day, guests dined on a Southern Girl Desserts cake with flavors ranging from sweet potato, banana cream pie and peach cobbler.

30-year-old Good and 33-year-old Franklin began dating two years ago after meeting each other in 2009 on the set of the movie Jumping the Broom, which the she starred in and Franklin produced.

In his exclusive interview with me, Franklin described his perfect woman. You know Im just looking for a God fearing woman. Im looking for someone that has a vision of who they are and where they want to be in life and what they want to do. Someone who has a great personality and is constantly seeking; seeking God, seeking to do better. Someone who is complacent well thats not gonna work (for me).

Two months after getting engaged, Good also opened up to Complex magazine about the qualities she looks for in her perfect mate. "It would take someone who is spiritual and loves God. Someone who respects my mind and what I have to offer besides my physical appearance," she told the magazine. "Someone who actually loves other people and is connected to my destiny. This person has to be walking down the same path as I and want the same thing out of life, she told the publication.

Sounds like the two of them had the same ideas when it came to a mate and hopefully this trend of being alike will continue throughout their marriage.

According to the groom, instead of starting a family right away, the newlyweds want to get to know each other as husband and wife. The bride added, We want to make sure that when we bring a child into this world we give it our full attention.

The newly married couple plan on having a mini-moon in Big Sur, and will have their real honeymoon around the holidays when Good wraps filming on her new NBC show Infamous.

There is so much going on, she adds. But its wonderful to have a partner to have so much fun with!
