Fever

Hello, and welcome back! There are so many great new romance novels hitting shelves right now, it's hard to know where to start. I hope you're all finding plenty for your summer reading TBR piles so you have good beach reading, or, reading for wherever your summer trips take you. Of course, I understand the kids are home from school, which may cut into reading time. That means some of you may soon have TBR stacks to rival mine.

To tempt you to find a little more of that elusive reading time, I have Joan Swan's Fever (Brava, received from publisher) this time. Teague Creek has no hope--he's on death row for a terrible, terrible crime. With his appeals exhausted, he decides to take a chance on escape. In that attempt, he and a vicious fellow prisoner take Dr. Alyssa Foster hostage to make their escape. Alyssa doesn't care how hot Teague is--and he's hot in more than one way--she doesn't appreciate the position they've put her in. When things go bad, Alyssa and Teague wind up on the run together, and she discovers there's more to this sexy convict than meets the eye. Teague has plans, and they don't include falling for the gorgeous doctor, but he has to admit she comes in handy when things get even more difficult. Teague's unusual ability adds even more tension to their flight, complicating their budding relationship with its danger. Teague is seriously sexy, hot in all aspects of the word, on a mission that will have readers rooting for his success. Alyssa is no pushover, but it would be completely impossible for her to resist this man with all his strengths and weaknesses. I enjoyed this one quite a lot. The pace is fast and you'll keep reading and turning pages way past your bedtime to find out how Teague and Alyssa work out an impossible situation to get their happy ending. I'm borrowing four of Cupid's five arrows for this one.

Until next time, happy reading!
