1919 - An injunction was established against Galileo advising him not to teach Copernican theory, the idea that the planets revolve around the sun.

1732 - The first Catholic Mass in America took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at St. Joseph’s.

1919 - Grand Canyon National Park was officially established in Arizona.

1935 - Robert Watson-Watt gave the first demonstration of Radio Detection and Ranging. We know it today as RADAR.

1935 - The Reich Luftwaffe was established in Germany.

1993 - The World Trade Center was attacked when a bomb in one of the parking garages detonates.

Marshall Faulk the renowned NFL star was born in 1973.

William Frawley who will forever be remembered as Fred Mertz on the timeless sitcom “I Love Lucy” was born in 1887.

Greg Germann the actor who has appeared in “Friends With Money” and “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” was born in 1962.

Jackie Gleason the legendary actor/comedian who starred in “The Honeymooners”, “Smokey & the Bandit” and “The Toy” was born in 1916.

Victor Hugo the author of such renowned stories as “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, “Les Miserables” and “Rigoletto” was born in 1802.

Margaret Hutton the actress who starred in “Annie Get Your Gun” and “The Greatest Show on Earth” was born in 1921.

John Harvey Kellogg physician and nutritional advocate, who, with his brother Will, developed Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, was born in 1852.

Tony Randall who is probably best known for his role as Felix Unger on TV’s “The Odd Couple” was born in 1920.

Levi Strauss best known for being the creator of blue jeans was born in 1829.

Dub Taylor the character actor of film (“Maverick”) and TV (“Little House on the Prairie”, “Hee Haw” and the infamous “Hubba Bubba” commercials) was born in 1907.

We Said Goodbye To…

David Doyle who is best known for his role as Bosley on TV’s “Charlie’s Angels” passed away in 1997 at the age of 67.

Constance Ford the renowned actress of TV and Broadway passed away in 1993 at the age of 69.

Lawrence Tierney the actor who appeared in “The Greatest Show on Earth”, “Reservoir Dogs” and “San Quentin” passed away in 2002 at the age of 82.
