Naked Games

Hello, and welcome back! It looks like I might actually get to sit outside and read again soon, if Mother Nature cooperates. I can't wait. Then I can enjoy my garden and my books at the same time, which hasn't happened in far too long. I hope wherever you are, you're enjoying a nice late summer day as well.

This time out, I have Naked Games (Aphrodisia, received from publisher) by Anne Rainey. This one rounds out her ongoing series, this time with Catherine Michaels discovering that she was adopted and somewhere has a sister. After tracking down her sister Gracie and traveling to meet her, she also meets Dean, who might be the sexiest man she's ever seen, but who makes it clear he doesn't trust her. Dean is sure that Catherine is a scam artist or otherwise up to some nefarious purpose, but he has to admit, he's more attracted to her than he should be. So, why not indulge the attraction, get close to the enemy? Catherine proposes a truce when it's clear that Dean thinks she's up to no good, and he takes it a few steps farther, right into bed. He has no idea he's out of his element here, just that he wants Catherine. Catherine knows it can only be temporary, after all, she's only come to visit her sister, not to live in the same state. But Dean is relentless, and completely irresistible, and keeping him out of her heart will prove impossible. Dean quickly discovers this is the woman he's been waiting for, the one who can match him in bed and out, and knowing she intends to leave very soon is killing him. I remember when this series started. I didn't fall completely in love with it then, but the past couple of books have persuaded me that this is an author I want to keep reading. Now if only Aphrodisia would buy more authors like Anne Rainey, I'd be ecstatic! Dean is hot, hot, hot, and I can't imagine any sane woman refusing him. Catherine is no weakling, but her sweetness is exactly what he needs to smooth his rough edges. I was a little sad to reach the end of this one, but I think you're going to enjoy it very much. I'm borrowing four and a half of Cupid's five arrows for this one. It's a definite keeper!

Until next time, happy reading!
