Moonglow

Hello, and welcome back! It looks like I'm finally getting my nice weather at last. The nights are getting cooler, and the days aren't so miserable anymore, which means that on my day off next week, I ought to be able to enjoy a few hours of garden and book time, which is far overdue. I hope you are all finding a little more reading time now that the kids are back in school.

This time out, I have the latest from Kristen Callihan, Moonglow (Grand Central, received from publisher), second in her "Darkest London" series. Daisy Ellis Craigmore is determined to enjoy her widowhood now that her mourning period is finally over, but her very first foray into naughtiness has her right in the middle of a murder investigation, and the murderer is a werewolf. No sane woman would tell the police that's what she's seen, and Ian Ranulf, Marquis of Northrup, wants to be absolutely certain she doesn't tell anyone what she's seen. Because Ian is a lycan himself, and, though he's been banished from his family, he still must protect the secret while he tries to discover who the rogue is. The trouble is, the next murder victim leads him to believe Daisy might be a target as well, which means he'll have to keep her safe, too, whether she likes it or not. Daisy does not like it, not one little bit, though the more time she spends in the company of the sexy Scot, the more appealing she finds him, even though she believes he wants her married sister. But Daisy doesn't yet know all the secrets between Ian and her own family, and she may be surprised when she discovers them. I didn't love the first book in this series, but I enjoyed this one quite a lot. Daisy is a terrific heroine, with her secrets and hidden emotional wounds, and Ian is absolutely delicious, with even more horrific emotional scars he keeps buried while keeping up the facade for everyone else. Until Daisy comes along and gets under his skin. Now that I've read this one and fallen in love with Ian and Daisy, I'm really looking forward to Winterblaze. In the meantime, I'm borrowing three and a half of Cupid's five arrows for this one.

Until next time, happy reading!
