Mandarin Essential Oil

What is Mandarin? Often associated with Asian cooking, Mandarin is also used in perfumery.

It's delicate, sweet and tangy with floral undertones. It comes from a prolific fruit-producing tree, which happens to like hot and humid climates.

The botanical name for Mandarin Essential Oil is Citrus, reticulata, while the latin name is Citrus mandurensis.

Sweet and tangy, pure Mandarin essential oil has many uses. Two drops of this beauty in an aromatic bath soothes your digestive system, helping to regulate and balance the fluids in your body.

It can also be used in soothing an upset tummy in children. 4 drops of mandarin, 2 drops of grapefruit, 2 drops of lavender, 2 drops of roman chamomile in a carrier oil (jojoba, marula or sweet almond). Rub into stomach.

Also known to help in removing stretch marks, 6 drops of mandarin, 10 drops of helichrysum, 3 drops lavender, 3 drops neroli. Add these beauties to 15 ml of rosehip seed and tamanu oil.

Aromatic Blending

In perfumery Mandarin Oil is part of the top to middle note of a given blend. It's intensely sweet aroma hits you with a tangy, citrus and fresh jolt.

For those of you that like to express your creative side, the prospect of making a perfume blend is endless.

Mandarin essential oil blends well with citrus oils like lime, grapefruit, bergamot, and lemon. Floral scents such, as Rose, Jasmine, Lavender and Ylang Ylang are jewels waiting to express their contribution to Mandarin's beauty. Spices like cinnamon, clove and ginger make their own contribution as well.

Mandarin is a refreshing aroma that uplifts and can often help in counteracting depression and anxiety.

Mandarin Oil and Your Skin

Mandarin oil can act as a skin toner, it's used in the treatment of acne, will clear congested and oily skin and softens dry skin.

It's used to cure skin disorders and maintain the balance of moisture in your skin.

Mandarin, whether you're using it to cook, add to your bath or soothe an upset tummy, it's a great addition to your storage chest of essential oils.
