Greg Parker also has an obsession. He is madly in love with Abbie, the woman he raped 16 years ago. Or is he? He found Abbie on Facebook and has become friends with her through this social networking site. How did he manage to do this? Greg believes he is now a different person. But is he? He looks different and has a name that Abbie won’t recognize. But has he changed inside?
Not realizing what she is getting herself into, Abbie agrees to meet with this handsome stranger. And she falls for him. This gentle, compassionate man seems to be just the kind of guy she wants to be involved with. She is still recovering from the brutal rape 16 years ago and is trying to keep an angry ex-boyfriend away.
They become deeply involved very fast. Then Abbie finds out he is a suspect in the murder investigation of his best friend. And she begins to wonder if Greg is as virtuous as he has led her to believe. After he becomes overly rough with her in bed, she realizes who he really is. What does she do now?
Abbie forgave him for raping her all those years ago, but can she forgive him now for deceiving her? If he killed his friend and others, can she forgive him for that?
The author, Kitten K. Jackson, successfully reaches deep into the dark and depraved recesses of some human minds while showing the intense compassion in others. This is a mystery and a thriller with intense scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This is definitely not a book for young people though. It does contain several somewhat graphic sex scenes, most of them violent in nature. And there is some profanity.
The story grabbed me right from the beginning and never let go until the final page. Even then I didn’t stop reading willingly, but the sequel hasn’t been published yet.
