Lots of practice and hanging around waiting to start the tournament

Boys came from all around Texas for this event.
On these types of tournaments they need members to help in shuttling golfers on the long gaps on our course. I have helped in the past so offered again but there was a new system the schools had arranged for five tourist cart for our local Fairway Golf Cart Company. These carts will seat many players and any of their followers between the long gaps in our course. This was a great help so I was not needed as they had other members to drive these shuttle carts. I was able to get a few pictures any way on this cold and windy morning even off my patio of the golfers going by my house.

Good use for the Tourist wagons from the Fairway Golf Carts Company

This type of tournament makes for a long day with such a large group and the boys walking carrying their bag. I am sure they loved the relief when the big golf wagon was there to give them a lift to the next hole. This happens on at least five holes on our course. I talked to a mother early that morning had come to watch her son play. She was bundled up in a big parka and had two blankets with her to keep warm. She was set for a long day so wished her well and her son having a good day. These are excellent events for our young students as the competition is great and one strives to give it your best.
