Kirkland Signature House Blend

Did you ever open a bag of beans and just know your coffee was going to taste great? The other day, I was shopping in my local warehouse again and came across something new—at least new to me. Costco has their very own brand of products called Kirkland. This includes laundry detergents, paper goods, grape juice and a myriad of others. So far, everything I’ve tried under this brand has been really great. So when I found this 32-ounce bag of Kirkland Signature Coffee Beans I wasn’t afraid to try it, but then I noticed that it was actually roasted by Starbucks. I’ve heard many people say that Starbucks coffee tastes burnt, so I took a look at the roast level and it said medium roast. That was good enough for me, but if I wasn’t convinced that it was worth a try then, there was even more. This coffee is also Fair Trade Certified and yet it was very reasonably priced.

I know this all sounds too good to be true and you are probably waiting for the other shoe to drop, but I’m sorry to disappoint you. I opened the bag that evening and heaven wafted out. I wanted to make a cup right then and there, but I ground the beans and set up for my morning coffee hour.

This coffee is called “House Blend” and it is described as “Balanced and lively with a clean finish.” The package goes on to say, “With a perfect balance of flavor, body and liveliness, House Blend is something you’ll want to enjoy throughout the day and the week. It’s bright yet surprisingly smooth, cup after cup. And, because House Blend is a Fair Trade Certified coffee, it helps support a better life for farmers and their families with access to education, health care, credit and sustainable farming practices.”

Many times when I get my early morning cup, I don’t really notice it, but I have to say that this coffee has been a treat each and every day and as far as a burnt taste, there is none at all. I can’t ask for more than that. It must smell really good because my husband, who normally doesn’t even drink coffee, asked for a cup. You will have to stop by your local Costco to pick up this great find.
