Iíve often heard it said that Los Angeles isnít a very family-friendly place. But I beg to differ. From what Iíve experienced, Los Angeles is filled with parks with amazing playground structures for RVing families to hang at while visiting the City of Angels. Even the malls beckon families to come and be entertained. Below are just a few my favorite places for family-friendly play in L.A.
La Cienega Park located at 8400 Gregory Way in Beverly Hills is a gem of a playground. Not only does the park feature a great play structure and clean restrooms, but thereís also a snack bar! Delicious Snack Co. owned by a super-friendly guy named Dean, offers dairy and gluten-free menu items. Their French fries are very tasty, and there is a wide assortment of snacks for hungry or thirsty park goers including coffee, sodas, pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches and burgersóthereís even a veggie burger!
Kings Road Park, located at the corner of Kings Road and Romaine Street is a quaint little neighborhood park that feels like itís part playground/part meditation garden. When I step into this park, Iím transported to Hawaii in my mind and thatís not a bad state of mind.
Pan Pacific Park, located at 7600 Beverly Boulevard, has a super amazing play structure that will keep your little ones happy for hours. Itís also conveniently located near my favorite corner of Los Angeles, Third and Fairfax, where youíll find plenty of food and entertainment to keep you busy once youíre done playing.
Westfield Century City Mall, located at 10250 Santa Monica Boulevard, is not only a cool mall by itself, it has one of coolest kidís climbing structures Iíve ever seen. Itís like you just stepped into an Alice in Wonderland world or something. And right across from that is a fun place called Giggles ĎNí Hugs that features an indoor play zone, visits from favorite characters, and a cafť.
The Grove, located at Third and Fairfax, is a huge dining and entertainment complex that is always filled with something to do. Whether itís fawning over Mario Lopez in a live filming of Extra, or going to Kidís Club every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and getting a chance to see somebody like Ziggy Marley perform live, or spending time strolling down the avenue and catching a bite to eat, youíll be happy you left your RV for a bit. Donít forget to visit the family lounge in the in the concierge bathroom area.
