2 beef hot dogs
1/3 cup salsa
1/4 cup Mexican cheese mix
3 Tbsp fresh cilantro
I highly recommend using all natural beef franks. You want to avoid those nitrates, nitrites, and other chemicals. Cut them into 1" pieces. Put them into a microwave-safe bowl. Pour on the salsa. Again I recommend all-natural salsa - it's amazing how many salsas out there are stuffed with sugar or high fructose corn syrup!
Sprinkle the cheese blend on top, and then sprinkle on the cilantro. It's very eas to grow cilantro in a window garden, and it's so good for you!
Cover and microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes on high, depending on your microwave.
Enjoy! It has a fresh, spicy flavor and lots of healthy antioxidants.
Did you know that cilantro is a natural chelator? That is, it binds to dangerous heavy metals in your system like mercury, and helps it to get released from your body. Since mercury is toxic, and also occurs naturally in a variety of foods, it's good to get that back out of you. Eating cilantro regularly can help with that process.
Cilantro also helps with a number of other areas:
* improves sleep
* lowers blood sugar levels
* reduces stress
* provides antioxidants
And then there's the tomatoes in the salsa! Did you know that tomatoes were once thought to be poisonous? Luckily we got past that minor misunderstanding. Now we know that tomatoes are chock-full of lycopene, as well as potassium, vitamin A, and vitamin E. It's shown to reduce rates of prostate cancer and pancreatic cancer.
The cheese provides calcium for strong bones, and the hot dog provides protein for strong muscle!
So a nice all around dish with lots of flavor, lots of health benefits, and it's easy to make too.
