The mutants returned in 2003’s “X2: X-Men United”. In this adventure, friend and foe united to face the evil Stryker who was determined to annihilate all mutants with the help of Professor Xavier and Cerebro. Who will win this battle? See if you can spot the movie mistakes in this action packed feature!
· Logan is talking to Bobby in the kitchen at the school. Logan has a bottle of Dr. Pepper and in the front view, he hands the soda to Bobby. Logan’s hands are around the middle of the bottle. But in the very next view, when Bobby takes the soda from him, Logan’s is holding the bottle by its neck. Also during this scene, when the mercenary comes in and starts to fire in the kitchen, the soda bottle gets turned over on the counter. It’s still on its side for a couple of views. But when the scene shows Bobby hunkered down with his ears covered and then back to Logan fighting the man, the bottle is upright again on the counter. One of the baskets that was knocked off is back too!
· Mystique is disguised as “Grace” in order to get close to Magneto’s prison guard in the bar. She walks over to him, carrying to beer mugs. From the view under the glass table, Mystique sets the mugs down and puts her arms in her lap, away from the table. It cuts to a rear view of her and her hands are up, near the table and close enough to scoot the beer mug over to the prison guard.
· While they’re on the jet, Jean asks if “everyone’s OK back there”. The background view of Rogue shows her safety belt isn’t pulled over her left arm. When Logan answers “no”, the view of her shows it strapped over her upper left arm. It cuts back to Jean when the warning signals start to sound and the strap is once again gone.
· Everyone is discussing strategy inside the jet once they’ve arrived at the lake. The first view of Pyro shows his hands/fingers are behind the head rest on his seat. When Jean starts to talk, the view of the two of them shows his fingers are over the headrest. When Nightcrawler says he can’t teleport inside, Pyro’s hands/fingers are behind the headrest again.
“X2: X-Men United" (2003) stars Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, James Marsden, Anna Paquin, Rebecca Romijn, Brian Cox and Alan Cumming. It runs 133 minutes and is rated PG-13 for sci-fi action/violence, some sexuality and brief language.
