Dream House

After a busy career in the city, Will Atenton moves to a quiet little town and a picture perfect home with his wife Libby and their two daughters. But they soon realize that their home was the site of a grisly crime scene when the home’s owner supposedly murdered his entire family. Now, with the man being released from prison, will the Atenton family be his next victims or is there something more sinister at work? Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Dream House”.

· Will is following the footprints in the snow. There is a white drawstring on the gray hoodie that Will is wearing under his coat and it falls near his right shoulder. (The drawstring on the left appears to be tucked in.) It cuts to a close-up view of Will from inside the house as he looks through the window and both drawstrings are out. The scene cuts back to the outside view as he walks away and the left drawstring is tucked in again.

· After finding the teenagers in his home, the next day Will goes into one of the local restaurants and talks to the cops. The first view of them is a reflection and the cop who is talking has a napkin in his left hand and nothing in his right. It cuts to a side view and the same cop is putting something in his mouth with the hand that was empty. His hands are also down at the counter in this view. But it cuts back to the reverse/mirror view and his hands are up and he’s wiping them with the napkin.

· When Libby and Will find Dee Dee and Trish having a tea party in the secret “little girl’s clubhouse” behind the closet, there is a doll with a dress that’s sitting on top of the tray that’s on the chair next to them. (Its legs are stretched out across the tray.) But when enters the room and says “I see”, the doll is no longer sitting on the tray. It’s standing, slumped over in the chair. The doll is sitting again when Libby comes in and Will asks “How long have you been in here?”.

· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Libby is telling Will about the night of the murders. In a close-up view of Libby, when she is telling him “It was snowing and I was worried you wouldn’t make it home”, Will’s left hand has dropped from her right shoulder and her hands are behind his neck. It cuts to a close-up of Will (over Libby’s right shoulder) and his left hand has a firm grip on her hair next to her fair and his thumb is next to her face. Libby’s hands are also in front of his shoulders now.

“Dream House” (2011) stars Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts, It runs 92 minutes and is rated PG-13 for violence, terror, some sexuality and brief strong language.
