Weber Genesis Silver B Grill Review

We've owned our Weber Genesis Silver B Grill for about ten years - and it's still going strong. We don't baby it, either. Here's our experiences with this grill.

Weber Genesis Silver B Grill Review First, some of the basics. We live in Massachusetts where it gets quite snowy in the winter. We grill all year round. The grill lives on our back porch within easy access of the sliding back door. Yes, we grill in the snow :). The grill sometimes gets covered, sometimes not.

We love the grill. Yes, it costs a fair amount, but it also lasts years. The grills we had before this fell apart after a year or two.

It has a front, middle, and back burner. This is great for cooking with indirect heat. It means you can put the food up front, turn on the back burner, put your smoker tray with wood chips over the back, and get that great smoky flavor without drying out the food.

The side counter that flips up is cute but we never use it. We just use the built-in counter.

The starter ended up dying after a few years, so now we self-start it. Not really a big deal. Out of all the things to go wrong, we consider that fairly minor.

We replaced the grates once as well. It came with cast iron grates and no matter how we tried to season them they still rotted out. The replacement grates were porcelain coated cast iron which work far better. They still aren't infinite, though.

The blued flavorizer bars are also good for about three years before they start to rot out - we move them around to get them to last longer.

The grill works with natural gas. We keep a full tank of gas on the grill plus another one to the side as a spare, so that we're always able to grill.

All in all, we love this grill and use it regularly. We've got all sorts of recipes for grilling that we adore. Well recommended.

We purchased our grill from a local store with our own funds, because we love grilling.
