Unique and Cheap First Date Ideas

A first date is always stressful, but even more so when you're the one planning it!
Women have progressed past poodle skirts and aprons. Now we feel empowered to ask someone out and that is absolutely amazing. Full of nervous energy, you approach the lucky person, ask them on a date, and get a yes.
But now...the date is your responsibility! Where to go and what to do? Shouldn't the stress be over?
Here are some fun, creative and casual first date ideas to take the stress off.

*Concerts: There are always various local concerts going on with tickets at a low price, so you can treat without worrying. Look the band up online before to ensure that you enjoy their music. Buy your tickets before to avoid a sold out show. If cost isn't an issue, splurge on a concert with a variety of music. This is great if you don't know your date's music tastes. The best part of attending a concert is that music can add to already great chemistry between you and your date. You can even dance with your date. If there is no chemistry, the music can offer a distraction with minimal hurt feelings.

*Daytime Picnic: A picnic can give you a chance to talk and get to know each other. Pick an out of the way park that they aren't likely to have visited or picnic on the beach if there is one nearby. Pack a simple meal, but add a homemade dessert to leave them with a sweet taste for the date.

*Drive-in Movie: Be careful with this date. It is one of my favorites, but it can intimidate some. Don’t suggest this unless you’re sure your date is very interested. It is more unique than movie at a theater and more intimate for those that feel the chemistry immediately. Drive-ins also give you a chance to talk in ways that movie theaters do not, since you are alone. Some drive-ins show back to back movies, for those who don't want the date to end. Make sure that your date doesn't want it to end before you stay!

*Dinner and a Show: A comedy show can show you their sense of humor. For a more classic approach, pick a generally likeable play. If you get cheaper seats to a larger play, bring some binoculars so that you and your date still have a great view.

*Learn Something: Cooking classes, music lessons, ballroom dance...there are so many classes out there for all interests. If you both enjoy yourselves, then you have just found a common interest. Now you have a ready-made reason to continue seeing them...to keep learning your newfound hobby, of course!

**Bonus Round**
If you know some of their interests, take them to something that caters to it. There are historical museums, art museums, libraries, a sports hall of fame, and many more unique places to visit. You can find something for almost any interest and it will bring out their passion for it (one of my personal favorite things to see).

Remember one key thing:
If you asked, you should expect to pay. Your date will appreciate it and may not even let you pay!
