Fairytales and Happily Ever After

So do you want the Fairytale? ...Or do you want Happily Ever After. These two concepts are often used to refer to the state of having a wonderful existence forever and ever. They are often used interchangeably but are they the same? I don't think so! The thing that people often overlook about these concepts is that Fairytales were filled with drama and fear and evil characters. That being said, when someone says they want the Fairytale they are actually asking for an existence filled with difficulty and pain and evil people. Now call me foolish but that doesn’t sound like a good thing to me.

You might be thinking, so what, there is always a happily ever after ending to a Fairytale. But wouldn’t it be better to have an entire life filled with happiness instead of drama and trauma and difficult journeys? Well, of course it would be? So why do so many people stay on the journey through the dark and enchanted forest in search of a happy ending instead of finding a different path that by-passes the drama of the enchanted forest all together?

Perhaps it’s because they prefer the Fairytale drama to the actual destination of Happily Ever After. Think about it! Drama seems desirable, exciting and interesting and your senses are heightened by anticipation of more drama and battling all the evil characters in the enchanted forest. In comparison Happily Ever After seems bland to those who suffer from drama addictions. Of course, Happily Ever After is a preferable life so the next time someone asks you what you want from a relationship don’t say you want the Fairytale – say I want the Happily Ever After and let go of any drama addiction hangover you may still be holding on to. Fairytales aren’t real but Happily Ever After can be if you avoid enchanted forests and evil characters.

Good luck with finding a drama free route to your destination of Happily Ever After! If you minimize the drama in your life a happier life might be just around the corner.

Until next time, have a warm heart but be COOL! Avoid drama, be happy, be well, and be the best you that you can be!

Best Regards,
