Michelob Ultra Light Cider

Michelob Ultra Light Cider is an alcoholic beverage with 4% alcohol, 120 calories, and 10g of carbs. How does it taste?

Michelob Ultra Light Cider First, I want to comment that 10g of carbs is NOT low. Most other light drinks are far below the 10g range. This drink has not only apple juice in it - which is full of natural sugars - but they also add sugar to it in addition. Then they add stevia, too. So this is quite sweet and quite sugar-filled. It might be "light" compared with whole-hog alcoholic ciders, but it's not light compared with most other alcoholic beverages.

The flavor is - not a big surprise - sweet. It's fairly tart on the initial drink, with small bubbles. You only really get the apple flavor on the finish.

I live in the central Massachusetts area, plunk in the middle of all sorts of apple orchards. Cider is a tradition around here. So I definitely understand the allure of cider. It's lovely in a variety of situations. I'm just not sure that weight loss is one of them :).

Still, if you adore cider, and this is your one special treat each Sunday afternoon, then drinking a light cider is certainly far better than drinking a fully sugared regular cider. So it's a matter of choosing your battles and balancing out your overall menu plan.

So, well recommended in that sense. But if you're simply looking for something alcoholic to enjoy after a long day, I'd steer clear of cider. Go for the many other options which are lower on the sugar scale.
