Golfing With Barbara

My usual Wednesday’s was working with Barbara to help her get her game back after surgery this past winter. We were usually chipping, putting and hitting balls on the range. She must have decided she wanted to get on the golf course so asked Sara about playing on Wednesday. Sara picked her up and as I was waiting for them to show up had to play around with my camera of a good seat for the squirrel on the tree trunk.

The golfers soon showed up and we headed for the first tee. Barbara had a hard time walking so she picked up as it was cart path only after our heavy rains the last few days. I did get some pictures as Sara helped her get set up on the tee box.

Barbara was a trooper as she tried to keep up and Sara helped on her shots.. Putting was something she tried most of the nine holes we played. Her chip on the ninth hole was very good as she is using the club Milt Kattner made for Bev Jones. Since Bev has moved she gave the clubs to the church and Barbara is the first to use them. Whenever Barbara feels like she needs to be fitted to some women’s club as these were men’s someone else from our church will try them out.

Sara took Barbara home and we went on to play the back nine. My game was not up to par but I wanted to finish the 18 holes. I need to go to the driving range before I play to get the swing in the right plane. It will come I just need to work on it. Barbara wants to try it again next Wednesday morning so this will be good for her as it will help her get her strength back.. The more she plays and uses the driving range which is just across the street from where she lives. I left her a bucket of balls one Wednesday and told her to walk across that road and get some exercise by hitting those balls.

I had to include this picture of the lighted fountain, my son Russ came from Fort Worth and stayed overnight so I had him drive me to the club house at 8:30 p.m. to get this picture. I needed to get some good close up pictures of the lighted fountain. I also need to hold my camera still as some of them came out blurry, I have a lot to learn with this camera but I love it.
