Ginger contains folic acid, inositol, manganese, panthothenic acid, and vitamin B3. It has been used to cleanse the colon, reduce spasms and cramps, stimulate circulation, heal sores and wounds, treat bowel disorders, enhance circulation, reduce fever and hot flashes, reduce indigestion and morning and motion sickness, relieve nausea and vomiting. Animal studies show it may prevent or treat several kinds of cancer. Small doses are used because larger ones can irritate the stomach.
