The Silhouette Cameo is great for using SVG digital stamps. Check any stamper website and you will see that digital stamps are very popular, because of the nice watercolor inks that crafters can use to color the stamps. With the Print and Cut feature, you can send the SVG file to your printer to print the stamp on watercolor paper. Then use the Silhouette to cut the stamp.

In this tutorial, we will be using one of my digital stamps, Clock Face. As with all SVG files, you can resize the image smaller in the Silhouette workspace, to fit your project. However, reducing the image a lot will not give good results. Also, the stamp image is a raster image, so enlarging the image will cause pixelation.

1. Load your watercolor paper into your printer. It’s best to use a smooth paper because the printer will give you better results.
   
   
2. Open the Silhouette^R Studio software. You will want to set the page size in the Page Settings pane to that of the watercolor paper. Check the boxes for Show Print Border and Show Cut Border. Set the page orientation, rotate view and cutting mat size for your Silhouette.
   
   
3. If the Registration marks are not visible, click the Registration Marks icon. In the Registration marks pane, set the Style menu to Type 1 or Type 2, depending on your machine.
   
   
4. Click File - Open to open the SVG file into the workspace. Each digital stamp has two parts, the stamp image and the cutting line, also called a mat or frame. Select both together and position them within the Registration marks, as needed for your designer paper.
   
   When the SVG is opened, the cut line is on top of the image, so that you can see it. But we don’t want the printer to see it. So let’s move it under the image.
   
   Selecting that thin cut line is a bit tricky. To make it easier, we will select both the image and the cut line and then deselect the image.
   
   
5. Select both the cut line and the stamp image. While holding down the Shift key, click the center of the stamp image to deselect.
   
   
6. Right-click slightly away from the image and choose Send to Back. You should see the cut line disappear.
   
   Now we are ready to print the stamp image.
   
   
7. Click on the Printer icon to send the image to the printer. The printer will print both the stamp image and the registration marks that the Silhouette needs to cut the image.
   
   Place the paper on the cutting mat and load the mat into the Silhouette. Don’t move the images in the workspace.
   
   
8. Click the Cut Settings icon to open the Cut Settings pane. Set the Cut Mode to Standard and the Cut Style to Cut Edge.
   
   
9. Choose a Material Type for your paper and set the blade on your Silhouette.
   
   
10. Click the Send to Silhouette button at the bottom of the pane.
    
    

The Silhouette will first read the registration marks and then cut the stamp.
