More Birthday Celebration

It was my birthday on Monday and my friend Betty’s birthday was Tuesday we decided to celebrate starting on Monday with 18 holes of golf. We were joined by Sara Pettijohn and Jane Wilmer to help us celebrate. Jane would not be able to finish the full 18 as she always has to leave early for her Monday bridge group. Jane is back playing again after her January fall from her bicycle which broker her wrist. She turned 90 in April and is healing up fairly well and wants to get her game back. We had a good day with Betty deciding she wanted to buy my lunch and we ate at the club house.

On Tuesday is our Game day at our Presbyterian Church and Betty’s daughter had come to visit so she also played with us. Two of the guy’s who come for games decided they should take the two of us for lunch. Usually on the first Tuesday of the month I bring lunch for everyone. They also gave us birthday cards with birthday cupcakes and candles. Such a fun group and we always have a good time every Tuesday morning.

Betty invited me to play golf on Wednesday with her and her daughter Malissa at 9:15 a.m. We talked about hoping for a golf birthday bounce as she said I had plenty of them when we played on Monday. After we started out and on the second hole, her son roared up as he had driven for two hours to play golf with his mother and sister it is a yearly routine to get this game in with his mother. It was fun to meet him and both he and his sister are great golfers and hit that ball a long ways and mostly straight. It was fun to watch the two play but all of us love our golf. Even when it is in rehab it is always fun to get outside and enjoy the golf course.

This was a great three day celebration of our birthdays and enjoying the golf games plus just celebrating together. Now it is back to reality and for me knowing that next year I will be ninety and it is hard to think any more as I am felling fine after a long time recuperating from shingles or neuralgia or whatever it was called and don’t want to go through that again.,
