He is a Child Molester

The following words, or scenarios, are the multitude of excuses many people tell themselves in order to convince themselves and those around them that someone they know could not possibly be a child molester, or sexual predator. In other words, how to convince yourself, he (you fill in the name) is NOT a child molester.

He is a dedicated employee. He is the breadwinner in the family. He is a good provider for his wife and children. He is an animal lover. He is a veterinarian. He is a coach who has helped hundreds of children in his community throughout the years, and he would never hurt a child entrusted to his care.

He is a (mayor-school board member-election judge) and nominated as community volunteer two years in a row. He is a respected citizen. He is a (Boy Scout-Eagle Scout-Troop leader) whose life calling is molding young boys into honest, upstanding young men.

He is a (man of God-Minister-youth group counselor) who would never hurt one of Godís children, at least not deliberately. He is a Sunday school teacher at church. He is a spiritual and wise soul.

He is a (principal-teacher-guidance counselor) who loves children. He is a (doctor-dentist-pediatrician) and he would never hurt a child.

He is a nurse. He is a respiratory therapist. He is a radiologist.

He is a (neighbor-best friend-life partner). He is a (tenured professor-respected football coach) and gives back to his community regularly.
He is a (police officer, paramedic, firefighter) who took an oath to serve and protect the community. He is a volunteer for the (Red Cross, Childrenís hospital, Childrenís home for wayward youth) he is not capable of hurting children.

He is a college graduate with multiple degrees, including his masters and even a doctorate.

He is a (father-grandfather-uncle). He is a (faithful husband-loving father-hard working family man) he would do anything for wife and children.
He is a gentle, kind soul who would give you the shirt off his back. He could never be a child molester; he would never hurt a fly, much less a child, especially in THAT way, right?

How could anyone, especially a child say he did that to them?

It is obvious the people saying these awful things are not getting enough attention at home, right? After all negative attention is better than no attention, so that must be the reason why children say such awful things about (you fill in the blank) right?

Seriously, as hard as it is to believe someone we care about or love could hurt a child, it is important to know young children cannot make up explicit sexual details.

If you suspect a child is experiencing sexual abuse it is your responsibility at the very least to notify the proper authorities. To look the other way and ignore what is happening leaves a child wondering why the people who are supposed to protect him or her do not.

Children deserve to have their words and voice validated. It takes tremendous courage to tell an adult that someone is hurting you. For anyone to ignore the situation is simply wrong.

How can you look them in the eye and then turn away from their cry for help? How can anyone turn their back on a child knowing that he or she is being hurt in ways no one could imagine?
