"In my dream, my mother and I are on a pig farm. The ground is muddy. We walk by a vast covered area with many pig pens. We noticed that all the pigs were very large and fat. Some were a bit muddy. What was astonishing was that they had huge nostrils. One pig had just one gigantic nostril. We were amazed at this oddity. What could this dream mean?"
As with any dream symbol, whether it is positive or negative depends upon all the other contextual clues. A pig is a good example of this because it can represent abundance and wealth or greed and lower behaviors. Let's take a closer look at this particular dream and all its symbols to determine what it is trying to tell the dreamer:
The Dream Symbols
Pig farm. This is a place where pigs are raised as livestock which means food and income. Represents a source of wealth.
Muddy ground. The ground is one's foundation (grounding). Something about this foundation is a bit dirty or at least unclear (muddy).
Vast, covered area of farm. This source of wealth/income/livelihood is large and protected.
Large, fat pigs. Do these pigs represent abundance or greed? Look at the other dream symbols in this dream for clarity.
A few muddy pigs. Ah, here it is. There is something unclear or dirty about these pigs. My perception is leaning towards these pigs as representing greed.
Huge nostrils.Another confirmation of the greed definition. The nostrils take in. Having huge nostrils indicates wanting to take in more than one normally needs.
One pig with one gigantic nostril. Why is this one pig singled out? This is one particularly greedy person.
This dream involves the finances of this mother and daughter. Their own current financial state is unclear but they are on the brink of acquiring some potential incoming wealth. The vast, covered area of this pig farm, to me, represents a protected form of wealth that could be a safe investment, life insurance or even a sheltered inheritance (trust). Unfortunately, there are a few others involved who are greedy. One person, in particular, is exceptionally greedy. The dreamer and her mother will be able to identify this person in waking life as his greediness will be easily seen.
This dreamer later confessed that she and her mother, who are currently financial unstable, are set to inherit some money from a family trust. But there are other family members who are already arguing over the inheritances shares with one person leading the fight.
I encourage this dreamer to use the power of her nightly dreams to manifest a better financial situation. By lying in bed quietly with eyes closed and envisioning a clearer scene, the dreamer can kick start her subconscious mind into playing out a happier dream sequence. A possibility: She and mother stroll through a large, happy, CLEAN and well-maintained farm with not only pigs, but cows, sheep and chickens. When she visualizes more than one type of livestock, she is intending multiple streams of income. Clear, blue skies and green, rolling hills for a pleasant pastoral setting signify health, wealth, openness and freedom. Perhaps, she can add hosting a large family picnic where she and her mother share their good fortune, fairly, to avoid any greediness.
