Plan Ahead for Summer Reading!

The summer months are creeping closer, and this is a perfect time to plan your summer reading program for your homeschooler. There are several new educators guides available for some wonderful summer stories. Here are a few of the amazing summer reads, with corresponding teacher guides for comprehension and follow up ideas:

1. Olivia Bean, Trivia Queen by Donna Gephart is a fun read for trivia fans. This poignant story is a perfect read aloud for your younger elementary homeschooler, or a great independent book for your fourth through sixth grader. 3. Chomp by Carl Hiaasen is a fantastic story that takes place in the Everglades. This is a perfect book to compliment your study or trip to Florida, as well as to learn about biomes. 4. The Name of this Book Is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch is a clever story geared for your fourth through sixth grade homeschooler. The educators guide is witty and offers enriching lesson ideas. It can be found here:

5. Princess Posey and the First Grade Parade by Stephanie Greene is a festive and funny story your younger elementary student will enjoy.
