To start, study your brows to determine whether they are already an attractive shape. They should have a soft arch above the outside edge of the cornea of your eye. Eyebrows should be of a natural thickness. They should be wider at the inside, tapering to thin at the end. If your brows are heavy, tweezing them to a slightly more narrow shape will make your eyes appear larger. Be very careful at this step. Going too far can create pencil-line thin brows. This look can be very harsh and aging and should be avoided.
The reshaping process can be frightening and you may not know where to start. In that case, pay a visit a professional to have your eyebrows shaped for the first time. Even naturally straight brows can be given a slight arch with proper shaping. Then, every day or two, you can tweeze any new stray hairs that pop up. This will help keep your brows in shape so that you may be able to wait 2 or 3 months before returning to have them professionally reshaped.
Are your brows short? Discover the best length for your eyebrows by using this formula. Use a comb or other straight object to form an imaginary line from (A) the outside corner of your nose, to (B) the outside corner of your eye. Your eyebrow should extend to point (C). You can lengthen them with a little powder eye shadow or very light, feathery strokes of an eyebrow pencil.
If your brows have thin areas, fill them in with powdered eye shadow. This gives a much softer and more natural appearance than using an eyebrow pencil.
Have you noticed some 'wild' hairs in your eyebrows? These are eyebrow hairs that are longer than the rest, tend to stand out on their own and sometimes even curl. Everyone over the age of thirty will start to notice these unwelcome fellows appearing. Trim these by combing your eyebrow hairs up and trimming off the long hairs with small sharp scissors. Then slide the fine teeth of a comb underneath to lift the hairs up and trim any remaining long hairs.
Finish grooming your brows with an eyebrow gel such as Brow Fix by Origins. This is a light gel on an applicator that looks like clear mascara`. It keeps each hair in place and gives your eyebrows a sleek finish.
