Michelob Ultra Pomegranate Raspberry Beer

Michelob Ultra Pomegranate Raspberry Beer is squarely taking aim at the "hip" pomegranate market which has sprouted into being over the past few years. The taste is light, berry, and flavorful. It has 6g carbs per 12oz serving.

Michelob Ultra Pomegranate Raspberry Beer Much like the Orange-Grapefruit Ultra, this is also definitely a beer that "light beer" / ice beer drinkers will enjoy. It's not meant for stout beer drinkers. It's a beer for drinking by the beach, sandals on your feet, a beach ball by your side.

Nutrition wise they did a good job here. For a 12oz serving you get only 5.5g of carbs, 95 calories, <1g of protein and 0g of fat. It's 4% alcohol.

I like raspberry, and I like pomegranate. Ironically one of the issues I have with this beer isn't really the beer's fault. It is that I just read a "marketing book" by the woman who spawned the pomegranate craze - and her ruthless self-promotion bothered me a lot. It makes me wonder if she somehow insinuated herself into Michelob - or if Michelob is just leaping onto the coattails of the pomegranate-train she created.

Like with their other flavored beers, I really appreciate that Michelob has put all the nutrition information ON the container itself. You don't have to go hunting for nutrition facts on random websites. I feel that all alcohol producers should be doing this, even though the government doesn't require it right now. Hopefully more and more will start providing this valuable information to their consumers.

You should be able to find this at most of your stores, and the price is not out of line with other beers of this category. The beer comes in a CLEAR bottle, though. We have done many studies on skunking and clear bottles let a beer skunk almost immediately if it is exposed to light (any light, not just sunlight). So be sure to keep your bottles in their cardboard container and if at all possible to keep them in a dark location until you can drink them. You really get a much better flavor that way.

Well recommended for those who enjoy light beers.

Note that when this first came out it had 6g of carbs and 107 calories - so they've been tweaking their formula over time.
