1953 - Winston Churchill became Sir Winston Churchill when he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II on this date.

1981 - The first IBM personal computer was introduced!

1990 - NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope was launched.

Robert Penn Warren author of “All the King’s Men” was born in 1905.

Justin Wilson best known as the Cajun cook was born in 1914.

Willa Cather author of “My Antonia” passed away in 1947 at the age of 73.

Lucy Maud Montgomery author of “Anne of the Green Gables” passed away in 1942 at the age of 67.

Wallis Simpson passed away in 1986 at the age of 89. England’s King Edward VIII abdicated his throne in order to marry her.
