A Little History
Aspen University* grew from the International Academy created in the 1960s to improve the way information was disseminated. During the next two decades the academy distinguished itself as an exceptional provider of premium education in information management. In 1982, the academy established the Information Institute to help people adapt to and make full use of all the emerging information technologies. The institute became keenly focused on meeting the needs of the workforce, sponsoring conferences and conducting extensive research to broaden the world's understanding of information-related topics such as appropriate uses and effective management of information.
Today at Aspen University
Aspen University has always been an online University. Their programs focus on relevant information, its strategic uses, and effective management. Aspen's goal is to help adult learners advance their careers and enrich their lives without the sacrifices normally associated with going back to school.
Aspen's online courses are offered in open enrollment, one-on-one "Independent" classes or in scheduled eight-week terms ("Interactive" classes) - 5 per year, synchronizing your classroom interaction with your instructor and fellow professionals from around the world.
One of the Aspen University hallmarks is having instructors who are practicing professionals and content experts, instructors who know how to apply theory to practical business applications you encounter daily. All instructors hold advanced degrees and most have terminal degrees within their disciplines.
