YW Value Project Ideas-Good Works

Sometimes the hardest part about Personal Progress in Young Women, is coming up with the ideas for a good 10 hour value project. I have scoured all over the internet to find a list of great ideas to help you inspire the Young Women in your ward.

Good Works 10 Hour Value Project Ideas

Plan and cook 10 meals for your family.

Type up old family journals.

Spend 10 hours as a volunteer indexer for people trying to locate their ancestors.

Temple work!! Find names and go to the temple to be baptized for them.

Make white hair scrunchies for the temple.

Volunteer to work on temple grounds.

Compile a family recipe book.

Compile a family health history.

Record family stories from family members and compile family history.

Organize family photos

Volunteer at the hospital.

Make finger puppets for a children's hospital or homeless shelter.

Make "chemo baskets" and take them to a Cancer Treatment Center- pair of socks, lap blankets, hard candy, a pack of gum, lotion, a trial size packet of baby wipes, a small trash can with a box of liners (in case the patient gets sick on the travel home). Give them anonymously.

Make baby hats for the NICU.

Organize a food or clothing drive and donate the proceeds to a local shelter.

Volunteer at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter.

Collect items for soldiers overseas.

Adopt a family for Christmas.

Go Christmas Caroling at a Nursing Home.

Babysit for Relief Society Enrichment night for 5 months, plan activities for the children.

Plan an afternoon of free babysitting at the church for ward members. Advertise the service and circulate sign-up sheets several weeks ahead of time. Prepare one kids' craft or activity for the afternoon.

Offer to do free babysitting for 10 hours to a family in the ward.

Babysit for couples attending ward choir practice.

Babysit for couples attending the temple.

Babysit for free for low income families.

Organize and host a homework night for the Primary children. Involve all the Young Women so they will each have a Primary child to look after & help/tutor.

Plan and carry out a carnival for primary children or children at a homeless shelter.

Organize and carry out a blood drive.

Re-watch Conference and write in your journal how talks apply to Good Works.

Plan a ward social with the Bishop’s permission.

Make and bring Sacrament bread for 6 weeks (must get approval from the Bishop).

Learn and become certified in First Aid and CPR and teach it to others.

Identify areas of town (parks, playgrounds, roadsides, church grounds) that are littered or dirty. Over several days, pick up trash and beautify the areas.

Make FHE kits to give to families in the ward, 3 months' worth-including recipes, games, lessons.

Be in charge of New Beginnings or Young Women in Excellence.

Paint flower pots and plant inexpensive flowers and take to a rest home.

Make file folder games for the nursery.

Organize and carry out a toy drive for the nursery.

Organize and carry out a surprise birthday party.

Organize and de-clutter your attic or garage (with a parent's permission.

Mentor one of the younger girls through her personal progress.
