Betty Garrett who appeared on TV’s “All in the Family” and “Laverne & Shirley” was born in 1919.

Marvelous Marvin Hagler the boxing champion was born in 1952.

Ken Jennings the all-time Jeopardy champion was born in 1974.

Jewel the singer/songwriter who had a hit with “You Were Meant for Me” was born in 1974.

Robert Moog inventor of the Moog Synthesizer was born in 1934.

Seabiscuit the legendary race horse was born in 1933.

Artie Shaw the renowned bandleader was born in 1910.

Mac Wiseman the country music artist who had a hit song with “The Ballad of Davey Crockett” was born in 1925.

Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker the infamous Bonnie & Clyde outlaw duo were killed in 1934. Clyde was 25 and Bonnie was 23.

Lloyd Bentsen the politician and former Vice Presidential candidate passed away in 2006 at the age of 85.

Kit Carson the frontiersman passed away in 1868 at the age of 58.

Owen Hart the pro wrestler was killed in a stunt mishap during a wrestling show in 1999 at the age of 34.

Sterling Hayden who starred in “Asphalt Jungle” and “The Godfather” passed away in 1986 at the age of 70.

Captain William Kidd the legendary Scottish pirate was executed in 1701 at the age of 56.

John D. Rockefeller the entrepreneur/philanthropist passed away in 1937 at the age of 97.

Sam Snead the pro golfer passed away in 2002 at the age of 89.

Linda Thompson the actress who starred on TV’s “Hee Haw” and songwriter was born in 1950.

Shelly West the country singer who had a hit single with “You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma” (with David Frizzell) was born in 1958.
