Atlantis

In the 4th century B.C.E. Plato, one of the world’s greatest philosophers, wrote about a city of splendor and wealth; a continent rich not only in agriculture, farming, and animals (including elephants), but also in gold, copper and silver. The people of this land possessed an advanced technology far superior to anything that existed during Plato’s time. This land was known as Atlantis.

According to Plato, it was a growing materiality among the people of Atlantis that caused the gods to become angry (in particular, Zeus), who then destroyed the island.

Aleister Crowley, the founder of the Thelemic tradition, stated that Atlantis was a land of prosperity and magic. With the discovery of the magical substance Zro (later known as Sro), the Atlanteans lived lives of youth and vitality. Though a land of magic and science, Atlantis was also a land of sacrifice, slavery and servitude. Atlantis was eventually destroyed, through the use of some unknown magical device, and the refinement of the Zro into a living form.

Edgar Cayce, also known as the sleeping prophet, said Atlantis was a paradise on Earth, that predated even the Garden of Eden. But the Atlanteans used giant crystals for power, and that it was a misuse of power that caused the destruction of the continent. However, there was plenty of time for them to escape, so refugees resettled into much of the world, including ancient Egypt, Portugal, and pre-Columbian America. He also predicted that a blue stone of Atlantean origin would be discovered that had the power to heal. This stone has been discovered and is known as Larimar.

It is said that many Atlanteans have reincarnated today, and are currently learning to overcome the temptations that plagued them in their lives on Atlantis. Though gifted technically and scientifically, these individuals may be working to overcome selfishness, materialism, and the need to exploit others to get what they want.

Atlantis may remain forever a mystery; nothing more than stories told in whispered excitement. However the tale of Atlantis is a reminder that when any society ceases to live from the heart, and instead focuses on gaining possessions and status, a destruction of some sort is sure to follow.

If, indeed, the Atlanteans have reincarnated, it’s with the hope that they bring with them a greater wisdom, and a desire to share the benefits of living consciously. It’s only from a place of love and through being of service for the greater good that true prosperity and happiness are found.
