Father's Day Card With The Logo Creator

This is a fast and easy project for you and your child to make together. You will use The Logo Creator software to create a Father's Day image which your child can then email to his father at work or print on a blank greeting card. Open The Logo Creator software and let's get started.

Step 1. Start a new image. On the Menubar click File > New Logo to open a blank logo canvas. Let's make the canvas a little bigger. Click Modify > Set Canvas Dimensions to open the dialog box. Set the Width to 750 and the Height to 650 and click OK to close the dialog box.

Step 2. Add the background. Now we are ready to add the background to the canvas. Click Modify > New Image Element to open the Object Libraries drop-down list in the Element Setter. We are going to replace the default blue orb with the background image. Choose the Leisure Edition from the Object Libraries drop-down list and use the arrow to browse to the background image (Lsr_04_layer_2). Click on this element to place it in the input box and then click the Set Image button to replace the orb.

Background Images Added

The image is too small and dark for our background so we need to make some changes. On the left is the Object Menu. Click on the Attributes button to open the Object Attributes dialog box. First we will rotate the rectangle. Use the Image Angle slider to rotate the rectangle to 90 degrees. Next we will enlarge the rectangle. Move the Scale slider to 1.882. Click and drag the rectangle to the center of the canvas. The last change we need to make is to reduce the opacity of the rectangle. Move the Opacity slider to .176. That's good. Click Done to close the dialog box.

Step 3. Add the white swirl. We will now add the white swirl that will be under the Father's Day message. Go to the Element Setter and choose the Hollywood Edition from the drop-down list. Use the arrow to browse to the white swirl (Hwood24_swirl). Click on the swirl to place it in the input box and then click Add New Image.

Let's enlarge the swirl a little. Click on the Attributes button on the Object Menu to open the Object Attributes dialog box. Move the Scale slider to 1.647. Next we will flip the swirl in the opposite direction. Click on the H-flip button. Finally click and drag the swirl to the upper right corner of the background rectangle. Click Done.

Step 4. Add Skat. The "cool cat" is Skat. He is the next image element that we will add to the picture. Choose the Company Mascot Edition from the drop-down list in the Element Setter. Use the arrow to find Skat. Click on him to place his image in the input box and then click the Add New Image button. Let's flip him in the opposite direction so that he will be facing the Father's Day message that we will add next. Click on the Attributes button on the Object Menu to open the Object Attributes dialog box. Now click on the H-flip button. Click and drag Skat to the lower left corner of the rectangle and click Done.
