Doritos Edge Low Carb Chips

Are you on a healthy diet, but craving chips? New options are on the market! Doritos now has Edge chips that are soy based and 6g net carbs per package.

The chips have 0g of trans fat which is a VERY good thing. They only have 1.5g of saturated fat. Out of their 9g of total carbs, 3g are dietary fiber.

The secret is soy proteins, which provide the bulk of the chip without the sugars or starches associated with corn.

Of course, the real question is how they taste. Our testers found them to be rather nice tasting, with a good crunch and flavor. They were enjoyable to eat, great as a side to a quick lunch. Note that they aren't "exactly the same" as Doritos. But the point isn't to make a replica of other flavors. It's to make something equally as tasty, but more healthy.

Note that in general I recommend you wean yourself OFF chips. If you stay addicted to chips, it's likely that at some point you'll end up craving them somewhere that no low-carb options exist. Still, while you are in the transition period, these chips are perfect for giving you that crunch without stuffing you full of sugar.
