Goodie Bag on Golf Tournaments

When organizing a golf tournament for your club may it be a Member/Guest, Member/Member, or club Championship you may want to give an extra gift for the players by a "Goodie Bag"

These Goodie Bag can be of any type of material from hand made cloth bags, colorful paper sack to even plastic bags from a sponsor or business to promote their shops. Items to place in these bags can be tees, balls, ball markers, bag towels, bag tags, pencils from the club, note pads, candy or energy bars, fruit and nuts to keep their stamina up during a long slow play. You could ask some sports business if they want to donate some small item for these bags or purchase them if your entry fee will handle the cost.

On some of our golf tournaments we contacted our grocery store and they donated enough bottles of water to encourage the golfers to keep from getting too thirsty on the course. Many business carry the can or bottle covers with their logo on them as a free advertising. These goodie bags are a fun things to use to greet your tournament players. If you have out-of-town players it is a great welcome to your club.

We found going to places like Sams Club you can get large bags of candy or mints that make good gifts for the bags. If this job is given to a committee you will be surprised what they come up with clever things to include in the bag or unsual attractive hand made bags.

Many golfer appreciate this welcome gift when they come to register for your tournament. I have found the men's tournaments also give out these bags when it is a charity type tournanment. I have entered these tournaments and the bags were impressive. Our club has many of these Charity type tournaments and they always have a large number of entrants. So making them feel welcome is always a good Public Relations thing and a Goodie Bag is a plus.

I also made goodie bags as a Christmas gift to a School or Abused children when our Community Chorus sang for them. The colorful sacks were decoraged with Christmas stickers and Glow in the Dark Stars. They were all filled with Carmel Corn, Cheddar popcorn, candy and cookies. They were well received and appreciated by the children.
