A Great So Random! Sketch

So, by now, you probably know that Sonny With a Chance was reworked when Demi Lovato left the show, and that the new show features comedy sketches, focusing on the other characters’ random sketches (hence the name, So Random!).

If you’ve ever seen it, you probably also know that it is hilarious- funnier than Sonny With a Chance, in my opinion, which was a pretty funny show.

That said, here is a funny So Random! sketch to check out if you haven’t seen it. You can wait for it to re-air, or check it out on disneychannel.com:

The Platowski Brothers

A spoof on the boy bands out there that are brothers, the Platowski brothers sing about sibling rivalry. Featuring Sterling Knight and Doug Brochu, these two sing about the things that those of us who grew up with siblings know really happen everyday.

The first song in the spoof is probably my favorite- “Mom Loves Me More”. Basically, the lyrics just consist of the two brothers singing the alternate lines “Mom loves me more/ Shut up, Shut up”- but it’s funny to me because I remember having this EXACT conversation with my own older brother when I was about 8 years old. He always used to tease me and say that he was the favorite, and this song brought back those memories. Good times!

My other favorite from this spoof is the song “Stop Copying Everything I Say”- which, if you grew up with siblings you know immediately touches a nerve. Again, my brother was famous for this, and it irked me sooo bad!!! Watching these two act out this common sibling occurrence really hits home.

A few of the other “hits” created by these two include (but are not sung during the spoof) “Get Out of My Room” (which I hear 100 times a day from my own teens), “I Hate Wearing Your Hand- Me- Downs”, “Don’t Look Out My Window”, “You Always Get to go First”, and “Go Live With Grandma”. Funny Stuff!

I should probably mention that each of the songs in this spoof ends with these two mock- fighting each other, so if you’re sensitive to that, this one isn’t for you. Again, for me, I found it to be accurate of sibling rivalry. So, if you grew up with siblings, or have kids that are teen/ tween siblings now, you’ll probably recognize a lot of familiarity in this spoof. Check it out on disneychannel.com today, and get ready to chuckle!
