The Direct Selection Tool
1. Click on the Direct Selection Tool in the Toolbox. Notice that when you hold your mouse over the square, the mouse cursor is slightly different this time. It is a white arrow with a black outline and a small black square next to it.Click in the center of the green square. Notice the bounding box appears again. Look closely, it is hard to see. Also notice that the handles of this bounding box are solid blue.
Click somewhere outside of the image to deselect the square.
2. Now move your mouse over one of the corner points of the green square and notice how the mouse cursor has changed a third time. The white arrow has a white square next to it.
Click on just the corner point of the green square. Notice that you get the bounding box again. But, this time the handle for the corner point that you clicked on is solid blue and the other three handles are white. This indicates that the handle for the corner point is active. Click and drag on this point. Notice that only this point moves as you drag.
