This crocheted vest is a companion to the crocheted skirt, which can be found Here. Of course, you can make the vest by itself, for your doll. The vest requires a very small any of yarn and is a great way to use up a little yarn that you have left from another project.
I used Vanna's Choice by Lion Brand Yarn, in Purple color number 147. If you are buying yarn for this project, I recommend this yarn highly, it is very soft and feels wonderful on your fingers as you work with it. I also used a size "J" or 10 crochet hook. If you tend to crochet tightly, you may want to use a larger crochet hook.
In the photo at right, the vest and skirt is shown on my Gotz Precious Day doll, Julia, but it would fit any 18 inch American Girl type doll.
