Instagram Creator Studio

Instagram is a great way to market your digital art or other business. And now, you can post from your desktop with the new Creator Studio for Facebook and Instagram. Actually, Creator Studio has been around for a few years but now it has been completely integrated with Instagram.

I haven't used Instagram much because you couldn't post via a computer without a third party app, adjusting your browser or subscribing to a service. Now there is Creator Studio and I actually like it. Not only can you manage both your Facebook and Instagram accounts in one interface on your computer but you can access the same interface in a web browser on your iPad. So what can you do with the Creator Studio?

In order to use Creator Studio you will need an Instagram and Facebook account, as well as a Facebook page. Your Instagram account must be connected to your Facebook page. You will also need to have an Instagram business or creator profile. Then go to https://business.facebook.com/creatorstudio. Click on the Facebook Login button. After you login, you will see the Home page.

At the top center of the page are two icons for switching between Facebook and Instagram. Select the Instagram icon, to switch to the Instagram window. On the left is a menu of links for jumping between the main sections. These links change as you switch between Facebook and Instagram.

Content Library
In this section, you have a list of all your content, including video, photos, carousel, stories and IGTV. For each item in the list you have a breakdown of information including a post thumbnail, title, status, date, likes and comments. When you click a thumbnail or title, the post will open in a new pop-up window. At the bottom of the window, is a link to edit the post and one for opening the post in Instagram. In the window, we have information about the post such as the number of views. You can get even more information in the Insights section.

Insights
This section has two views, Activity and Audience. These give you information about your post for the last seven days.

Monetization
This is where you can apply for and manage your Branded Content Portfolio.

Instagram Accounts
This section has a list of your Instagram accounts and a link to create another account.

Finally at the top left, we have the most important feature for me which is the Create Post button. You have the choice of posting to your Instagram feed or IGTV. In the pop-up window, you have the same options as you had before, including adding a caption, mentions, hashtags, location, photos or videos. You can publish your post, save it as a draft or schedule the post.
