Quaker now has Q-Smart low carb snack bars that are a combo of candy bar and health bar. The base is chocolate, while the top is soy crispies with rice.
These contain 3g of net carbs, with 2g of fiber and 3g of sugar alcohols. So as always, anyone sensitive to sugar alcohols should take a small bite and see how they affect them. Some of us have no issue with sugar alcohols, others have stomach issues.
I like the idea of a rice crispie bar dipped half in chocolate, but I found this to be VERY dry. Other of my testers really liked this as an easy bar to carry around, a nice alternative to a candy bar. I do enjoy the texture, and find the chocolate reasonably nice. The peanut butter flavor is quite mild and almost in the background.
Perhaps I've just been spoiled recently with the REALLY moist, flavorful bars that some of the other vendors have put out. This bar is quite nice, no off flavors, great for keeping in the car or backpack. Just make sure you carry along bottled water or sparkling ice with you, too!
