Cold and Flu Season - How to Avoid Getting Sick. The title definately explains itself. I have been lucky this season. I did get a cold early on, but took an over-the-counter medicine and fortunately was able to get rid of it. My secret is that I buy the cold medicine that works for me at the beginning of cold season and keep it in my purse. The very minute my throat feels scratchy (we all have different 'getting a cold' signs), I take the medicine and have a cup of hot tea. It may not work for everyone but certainly worth a try.
